MARTIN LUTHER CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY (MLCU) was created by an Act passed in 2005, by the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya and approved by the U.G.C. The University is supported by the Presbyterian and Lutheran Churches to provide educational opportunities

CHRISTIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT (CIM), is a national organisation imparting management education, management training, organisational development, conducting all-India management seminars etc. relevant to management of Churches and Christian organisations of all denominations

This being a self study programme, students can continue to work and study at the same time.

ELIGIBILITY: Graduates in any discipline, including Theology, who has obtained a Bachelor’s degree from a Recognised University after the completion of 10+ 2 (or equivalent) years of Schooling.

Exemption from subjects listed in the syllabus are available to students who have successfully completed the same at Degree level. Procedure for the same will be given by the Director Management Studies, CIM after the students’ enrolment.

DURATION: The M.A. Christian Management is of Five Semesters (two and half years) of self study. The Course begins in September 2010 and students can take a maximum of Five years from start of First Semester to complete the course

COURSE CONTENT: Based on the MBA pattern, the Course has 21 subjects (each subject consisting of an exam and an assignment, 100 marks per subject) and a Project Work (200 marks) for a total of 2300 marks and consisting of minimum 86 Credits.

SEMESTER COACHING CLASSES:  The Coaching classes are an integral part of the Course. During the FIVE Semesters of the MA Course, classes will be held in the months of May and November each Semester, to coach students in selected subjects. The classes will be for five days in Semester I and thereafter for three or four days each Semester, depending on the subject's content.

• These classes will be held at Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and at Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong. (More locations will be introduced shortly, depending on the location of students who join the Course).

• Dates for these classes will be intimated sufficiently in advance to enable students to plan their leave, book their tickets and accommodation

THE MINIMUM ATTENDANCE REQUIRED at Coaching Classes are as follows:

During Semesters ONE & THREE, the student should attend all subjects’ sessions in at least one of the two semesters

During Semesters TWO & FOUR, the student should attend all subjects’ sessions in at least one of these two semesters

During Semester FIVE, generally in the month of November, the student will be required to visit MLCU, Shillong, for one day, for a review of the progress on Project Work. Attendance at this review is mandatory.

Subsidised stay can be arranged at Shillong with prior confirmation of plan of arrival at Shillong, from the student.

Full attendance at Coaching Classes will earn FIVE Bonus marks per subject.

ASSIGNMENTS: when the student pays the fees (minimum first installment) for the Semester, the study material along with the assignments will be provided, for each subject separately.

The Assignments for each subject are framed in a manner that enables the students to grasp the essentials of the subject. Each subject assignment  submitted on time fetches five Bonus marks per subject. Only hand written assignments will be accepted.

FEES (all inclusive): The Course tuition fees is Rs.6000/- per Semester. Students have the option to pay 50% in the first month of every Semester and 50% on the third month of every Semester. No other fees is collected. Only when a student is reappearing for a subject, owing to have not passed at the earlier attempt(s), there will be a re-examination fees of Rs.200/- per subject for each such appearance.

MERIT BASED SCHOLARSHIP: Though the fees being charged are far below the actual cost (approx. Rs.12,000/- per Semester), ‘Merit Based Scholarships’ are available to students based on their academic performance, attendance at Coaching classes and timely submission of assignments.

Students who qualify will receive a Scholarship Cash Award of Rs. 1000/- per Semester

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application forms are available now on, for a Registration charge of Rs.200/- paid by Cash/MO, or DD payable at Chennai favouring ‘Christian Institute of Management’ and sent to the Chennai address given below. Applications forms are also available with The Registrar, Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong, Meghalaya at the address given below.

The Application is to be sent fully completed with proof of education and three passport size photos to reach CIM latest by 10^th August 2010. On confirmation of admission, the Fees for Semester 1, of Rs.6000/- (or the First installment of 50% thereof) to be paid by MO/DD favouring ‘Christian Institute of Management’ latest by 30th August 2010.

Candidates may also complete the application form through CIM website www.cimindia.in and separately send the registration charge of Rs.200/- along with other required details for completing the application process.
