Other Informations
1. Enrollment Procedure
Application forms and prospectus may be obtained from CIM from 1st
April to 31st July every year on payment of Rs.200/ either by cash or DD. The completed forms must be returned to CIM Office, Chennai, by 10th
August every year. On confirmation of admission by CIM, the Fees for the 1st Semester must be paid on or before 31st
August.
Only on receipt of the payment of the fees, CIM will release the study material of the concerned Semester, the Register Number will be assigned and an ID card issued.
In all future correspondence with CIM and MLCU, this register number should be mentioned.
2. Evaluation
Evaluation of the students will be done in the following two methods:
A. Internal assessment (40%) and
B. Semester End Examination (60%)
(A) Internal Assessment
This consists of two parts viz. Assignment and Attendance in Contact Classes.
i) Assignments are designed to enable the candidate to think and apply the concepts they study to the context of organizational issues.
Two assignments in each subject have to be submitted. Timely submission of assignments for all subjects is a must and defaulter may not be allowed to take the Semester end examinations.
Assignments are allotted a weightage of 40%.
ii) Contact Classes will be conducted every semester for
4-5 days at Chennai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Shillong. Students may choose any one centre convenient to them. Subject experts will conduct classes.
Dates of these contact classes will be informed to the students well in advance.
Attendance in the contact classes is compulsory and 5% of marks is given for full attendance.
(B) Semester Examinations
These are conducted in the months of January/February and July/August every year in various centers across the country, depending on the number of students enrolled from that area.
The students may choose the nearest centre convenient to them and inform CIM on time to send them the Hall ticket. These examinations are given
60% weightage in distribution of marks.
(C) Pass Marks
Including the scores in the Continuous Internal Assessment, the student should get a minimum of 50% marks in each subject to get a pass.
(D) Re-appearance in examinations
In the event of the student not appearing or not passing in an examination, reappearance is possible at the next Semester exam by paying a
Re-examination fees of Rs. 200/- per subject/paper.
CIM and MLCU may offer, if possible, arrears exams of more semesters at the same time.
3. Management Seminars
CIM is conducting Management Seminars of 3 days duration at various cities across the country throughout the year. Bona fide students of the Diploma programme are eligible to attend the same at the place of their choice by paying a subsidized rate of 50% of the Seminar fees, on producing their Student ID.

Requirements
Semester-End
Seminars In order to help the students to have a better exposure
to the theory papers, subject experts will conduct 4-5 days seminar/workshops
in Semesters I, II, III and IV at Chennai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Shillong. The students shall attend these
seminars at the nearest centre at their own cost. (travel, accommodation, food).
However, the students at the end of Semester V will compulsorily attend the
Mid Term Project
Evaluation in MLCU, Shillong. Subsidized boarding and lodging will be arranged
at the University. Students do not have to pay any separate fees towards these
semester-end seminars/Mid Term Project Evaluation. Project Work
The topic/subject of the Project Work should be useful to the candidate's
organization and enable him/her to apply the management principles learnt. The
candidates will select the place and organization for their Project Work. A Guide
will be allotted for each candidate. The Project Work involves fieldwork and reporting.
Three copies of the Project Report in a neatly typed and bound form should be
submitted within the time given. The Project Report shall be assessed by two examiners;
the Internal examiner (the project guide) and an External examiner appointed by
the University. The total marks for the Project Work will be
200. Distribution of Marks
Since
assignments constitute part of continuous evaluation, submission of assignments
is compulsory. The marks awarded for the assignment will be counted for the final
result. Assignments carry 40% of weightage and attendance in seminars carry 5%
of weightage, while 60% of the weightage is given to Semester-end examinations.
Candidates will not be allowed to appear for the Semester-end examinations for
any course if they do not submit on time the specified number of assignments pertaining
to that Semester. |
