CIM’s signature event, Breakfast Meet, is an initiative to reflect, connect, and grow as individuals. It allows participants to reflect on contemporary topics and connect with like-minded individuals from varied backgrounds. The heart of the event is growth—to advance personally by developing cognitive capacity and, in turn, accelerate professional lives.
The Breakfast Meet was relaunched in the second week of November at the YMCA Auditorium, Vepery, Chennai. Mr. Wilfred Davidar (Retd. IAS) led the think tank session, “My Template is Fine”.
On the crisp morning of November 9, the event began with sixty participants. Col. Jason Peter (veteran) led the opening prayer, and Sharon, an intern CA at JSAS Associates, led the worship. Then Mr. Miracle Frank, Management Coordinator, CIM, read from the Management Devotional. Following the opening remarks by Dr. Aby Alexandar, Executive Director, CIM, Mr. J. S. Anbu, Consultant, introduced the speaker of the day, Mr. Wilfred Davidar, IAS.
Mr. Davidar retired as the Additional Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu after over 32 years of service in the IAS. Post-retirement, he has been appointed as an advisor to Tamil Nadu E-Governance Agency (TNeGA) and is consulting as a public policy and business strategist. He has been a key resource person of CIM in its various programmes.
Along with his wife, Dr. Shanthi Davidar, Consultant Psychiatrist, he briefed on the “template”, the default set-up of the mind. Illustrating with a quadrant, Mr. Davidar explained people's stances when deciding or performing an act. The quadrant was divided into God-Spiritual, World-Evil Spirit, World-Natural, and God-Natural. He explained that we ought to be in the first quadrant, God-Spiritual, but often make decisions based on World-Natural (our understanding). The participants were encouraged to operate in the God-Spiritual sphere in both their personal and professional lives. Mr. Davidar, through his deep reflection, made everyone present look back and discern their past decisions and actions.
At the end of the session, the participants eagerly engaged with Mr. Davidar by asking questions. After the session concluded with a prayer, the participants connected over breakfast.
Looking ahead, the next Breakfast Meet is scheduled for March 8, 2025, at YMCA, Vepery, Chennai Additionally, it has been decided that future Breakfast Meets will consistently be held on the second Saturdays of March, July and November each year.
