A team of three consultants from the Christian Institute of Management (CIM) conducted an in-depth Organisational Compliance Check at a century-old hospital in Southern Odisha from March 12 to 14, 2025. This initiative aims to assess the hospital’s performance, identify compliance gaps and propose improvements to enhance its management and daily operations.

In recent years, the hospital has noticed a worrying decline in patient numbers, prompting the management to explore avenues for service quality enhancement. One significant step forward could be obtaining accreditation from NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Healthcare Providers), which serves as a recognised standard for quality in the healthcare sector. Despite having excellent infrastructure, the hospital faces challenges in critical areas such as statutory compliance, governance, operational efficiency, accounting practices, inventory management and standard operating procedures.
During their visit, the CIM consultants gathered and analysed preliminary data before performing a comprehensive compliance assessment focusing on governance practices, accounting procedures, inventory management and human resource practices.
Following their assessment, the CIM team submitted a detailed report containing observations, suggestions and strategic recommendations to the hospital’s director. This report aims to guide the management in identifying potential areas for improvement and necessary interventions. With the insights provided, the hospital is expected to make significant strides toward achieving NABH accreditation in the near future.
As a beacon of hope and healing in the region for over a century, it is our hope and prayer that this esteemed hospital will elevate its management practices to Biblical standards of excellence and uphold accountability to God, the State and the Church.
