CIM facilitated an Organisation Strategy Review Engagement with one of its OD partners working in major domains such as Health, Education, and Community Development on the 10th and 11th of December 2024.
This Strategy Review Engagement aims to consolidate lessons learned from the previous strategy cycle and develop a strategic roadmap for the future.
Mr. Anand Joshua, former Executive Director of CIM, was the key person in facilitating the entire two-day review engagement. Day One commenced with the Strategy Lessons learned and a review with the Senior Leadership Team of the organisation from three major perspectives: Good To Know Factors, Beyond Control areas, and areas that need Attention. This led to a productive engagement between the CIM facilitators and the organisation's Leadership Team which concluded with Strategic Recommendations and Significant Action Recommendations by the facilitators to the Leadership Team of the organisation.
Then, the CEO of the organisation shared insights from the previous strategic cycle and its journey across six parameters, prompting the departmental heads and second-line leaders to ponder and reflect on the lessons learned, grey areas, achievements, failures, and the progress of the organisation.
Mr. Anand Joshua continued the facilitation on the topic “Growth Mindset". This session can be best summed up by the phrase: “A growth mindset should be at the heart of the organisation; if not, it will die”.
In the concluding session, participants were asked to work in groups, imagining they were the CEO of the organisation and outlining their wishes for the organisation and the grey areas that must be addressed for progress.
Day Two commenced with a thought-provoking session on the DNA of a "Centre of Excellence", as it is one of the CEO's heartfelt desires for their organisation at all levels. This session encouraged participants to reflect as departments presented their aspirations in the presence of the CEO, other departmental heads, and second-line leaders.
Mr. Anand Joshua presented a consolidation of the lessons learned from the previous day through a vivid presentation that showcased the strengths of the organisation and the areas of concern that need addressing for the organisation's growth. He also emphasised the need for an Impact Report for the organisation, keeping the end in mind, insisting that the CEO act upon it immediately, as it must leverage the support of funders and partners.
Finally, Mr. Raja Christopher provided insights into the Changing Compliance Framework in the context of the political and social environment, emphasising how the organisation should be resilient and quickly adapt to changes and unforeseen circumstances.
Mr. Sam Blesson, the Director of OD, and Mr. Allwin, the Senior Management Coordinator of OD, played vital roles in real-time documentation, facilitating the Q&A and group sessions throughout the two-day event. As the next step, CIM will submit its consolidated report to the organisation’s management and the CEO, including the Strategy roadmap along with the finalised key milestones and timelines, while promising to hold them through it all.
