Celebrating almost three years of service in CIM, Mr. Shankar Shadrack, the Finance Manager, shares his life and career journey through the years.

A Diligent Career Path

Since 1998, Mr. Shankar Shadrack, who holds an MBA in Financial Management from the University of Madras, has been working in various organisations, including Leprosy Elimination Alliance and Seesha as Financial Coordinator, Manager, Audit Executive, Computing Executive and Senior Accountant. No matter the post or role, he had always strived to be “the adroit element” of the organisation, contributing to his self-growth and the organisation’s growth.

Throughout his career, Shadrack has been seeking a position in an organisation where he can utilise his skills and abilities to the maximum, and where he can be provided with professional growth while being innovative, resourceful and flexible through continuous learning and advancement of his skills. CIM has been that place for him.

He adds, “I came to know about CIM through the organisation I worked with previously, Our Daily Bread (ODB) Foundation. Two years back, CIM had an OD visit and a training session with ODB, and since then I have been associated with CIM.” .

Character Growth Rooted in Faith

As it says in Luke 1:37, “…with God, nothing is impossible”, Shadrack’s growth in terms of character and profession has been prosperous because of God’s hand upon his life.

In his former organisation, he learnt to treat his colleagues and team members with respect and care. In CIM, he says, “the qualities I’ve learnt from the leaders and colleagues have helped me grow in Christ”.

Looking back, Mr. Shadrack has learnt some timeless principles from the various workplaces he has worked in. Some of these include avoiding procrastination, effective planning, appropriate emotional handling, leadership qualities, and team building.

Looking Ahead

He says, “With God’s guidance and the support of the leaders and colleagues, I manage the finances of the organisation. I am grateful for His promise of financial blessings when we need funds to operate CIM”. In the future, Mr. Shankar hopes to work more for CIM’s cause of training NPOs and creating awareness for statutory compliance.

Mr. Shankar Shadrack is grateful for the growth and opportunities that have come his way. He says he is dedicated to understanding God’s plan and His word for his life, as well as how to align his vision with CIM’s vision. Finally, he adds, “Through my service at CIM, I strive to effectively manage financial aspects and incorporate new updates in the accounts department”.
