“Finance for Executives of Educational Institutions” was a two-day seminar held on the 23rd and 24th of April at Tambaram, Chennai. The seminar was designed specifically for the accounting staff of institutions and other avid learners who wanted to deepen their understanding of finance. Organised by MCC Boyd Tandon School of Business (BTSB) and CIM, the seminar brought together participants from several institutions who gathered at MCC BTSB.

The auditorium was filled with expert resource persons, including CA Manju George from Bengaluru, CA John Ravindran from Chennai, CA Velan Silas from Chennai, and CMA Dr. C. Samuel Joseph of MCC BTSB.

During the inaugural session, the MCC Principal emphasised the importance of all executives in educational institutions being capable of reading and interpreting annual financial statements. Such a program is organised to equip those executives.

The speakers shared valuable insights on accounting basics, budget management, GST, and cost accounting. They clarified cash flow concepts and offered techniques for analysing financial statements. Drawing on their personal experiences, the speakers led engaging and interactive sessions. Moreover, the event featured the launch of CIM’s book "Accountability integration for organisational flourishing" by the principal of MCC.

A total of 35 leaders participated, including four from the business sector. During the feedback session, participants not only appreciated the depth of subject knowledge that the speakers shared, for which they are well known, but were also deeply moved by the passion and burden they carried for the people and the communities they serve. Their commitment to support was evident and left a lasting impact on everyone, with many participants expressing a strong interest in having similar programmes organised regularly.
