CIM became a network partner with the Christian Medical Association of India (CMAI) after accepting the invitation from Dr. Priya John, the General Secretary of CMAI. This invitation enables CIM to join the City Forum Meetings to learn, support and share its expertise to strengthen health care organisations in the country.
The City Forum Meetings are an initiative that began in Bengaluru on January 17, 2017, to bring together healthcare institutions. These meetings are held quarterly in person, providing a platform for like-minded organisations in the healthcare sector and beyond to share and discuss key concerns, to network and foster fellowship.
The establishment of the City Forum Meetings offers an invaluable opportunity to strengthen
the healthcare landscape within the City and the State. This initiative provides a platform for the healthcare sectors, ensuring their unity in their mission to serve and enabling them to navigate the complex challenges they face.
Building on the success in Bengaluru, this model has expanded to other cities as well, remaining decentralised and focusing more on local needs.
CIM was invited to the 2nd City Forum Meeting of the Chennai Chapter, organised by TN-CHON. The meeting gathered healthcare leaders and professionals to foster collaboration and share experiences to help in the common mission to serve the community. Dr. Aby Alexandar, the Executive Director of CIM, and Dr. Mercia Justin, the Director of Courses, Research and Publications, attended the event. Dr. Alexandar spoke about how healthcare organisations can benefit from CIM’s services. Many institutions came forward to avail CIM’s services and support.
The event took place on the evening of April 25 at St. Thomas Hospital, Chennai. The gathering featured a special talk on “Quality and Accreditation” by Dr. Melvin Martin, Medical Director, St. Isabel’s Hospital, Chennai. His insights on best practices and lessons learned were an encouragement to everyone striving to improve the quality of care in their institutions.

It was a time of fellowship as the best practices, challenges and support were shared to strengthen healthcare services. Such City Forum Meetings seek to create active platforms for healthcare providers across cities, enabling them to collaborate, share resources, and support one another in their mission to provide holistic healthcare.
