Honing CAs for the Road Ahead

The annual Chartered Accountants Conference took place in Chennai from the 21st to the 23rd of February. The conference brought together professionals from the finance sector to discuss critical issues, challenges and insights.


The conference featured a range of sessions to enhance the effectiveness of Chartered Accountants (CAs) in their authoritative roles in finance. The event also showcased contributions from esteemed professionals, including PWC Davidar IAS, retired Additional Chief Secretary, CA Victor Daniel, CA John Ravindran, CA Sanjay Patra, CA Manju George, CA Raja B. Singh, Mr. Joshua Madan and many more. Each speaker provided valuable insights relevant to today’s financial landscape.


The keynote speaker addressed the importance of IT compliance for NGOs, highlighting legal obligations and best practices. Additionally, CA Georgy Mathew led a session on “Maintaining Risks in a CA Practice”, discussing strategies to mitigate risks inherent in financial management. Mr. Richard Samuel, Regional Director, CBMC and Dr. Aby Alexandar, CIM’s Executive Director shared devotions. The conference made the attendees pledge a commitment to uphold the integrity and influence of the profession. It also aimed to equip them with the tools necessary to navigate the challenges ahead.


The trump card of the event was the networking opportunities for the attendees with their peers and experts. The networking created new opportunities for the professionals. The overall theme, “Work Heartily”, inspired by Colossians 3:23, resonated throughout the sessions, encouraging participants to approach their work with dedication and passion, as working for the Lord and not for people.


The conference honed the attendees’ skills and reignited the professional call of their lives. As the conference wrapped up, the attendees left with renewed motivation to enhance their practice, armed with a stronger network of professional connections in the financial field.
