A Baptist Church in Maharashtra invited CIM’s OD department to conduct a visioning exercise for their organisation and another Mission organisation working with youths in and around Mumbai. This intensive exercise, held on 21st November, was to revisit the vision and mission statements of the two organisations.
Around 20 pastors and leaders from both organisations were part of the one-day visioning session. The Church and the Mission organisation underwent an intensive exercise on Personal visioning, Church visioning and Organisational visioning. CIM’s Landscape Analysis as a part of this exercise, helped the pastors and missionaries to understand the socio-political changes happening in the state, especially among Christian Churches and Christian Organisations, it also helped them to navigate and contextualise their missional activities to the present context and relevance. CIM’s consultants also facilitated a session on Church Management as a closing Session.
After the session, CIM received positive feedback from the participants, who mentioned that the sessions helped them richly and served as an eye-opener to them. They also added that they were enabled to draft the Vision and Mission statements, for themselves and their respective Organisations. CIM had earlier conducted an OD assessment for this church. The pastor of the Baptist Church, a long-time associate of CIM, had earlier served as the local coordinator for CIM’s seminars that were organised in Mumbai.
